Radon Mitigation
Radon Mitigation
Red River Home Inspectors offer radon mitigation. Radon mitigiation is an active system that lowers radon levels. Our mitigators have attended the Midwest Universities Radon Consortium (MURC) and are MURC certified. They are also certified by the Natinal Radon Proficientcy Prorgam (NRPP) for radon mitigation. We are listed on the North Dakota and Minnesota Department of Health's website as radon contractors/mitigation service providers. If you have tested your radon and it is at a level at or above 4.0 pCi/L there is a way to lower that level. Red River Home Inspectors can inspect your basement or crawl space for possible radon entry points and create a plan for lowering your radon levels by sealing entry points and installing a subslab or submembrane depressurization system. The radon will be redirected above the roof line where it will dissipate in the outside air. We offer free estimates and a system can typically be installed in 1 day. Following installation, the system will run for 24 hours and then be tested to ensure the radon has been reduced to a level under 4.0 pCi/L (the EPA's action level). In MN, new residential construction is required to have a passive system in place. If the passive system fails to lower the radon efficiently, we can convert passive systems into active radon reduction systems to reduce the radon levels.
Red River Home Inspectors attend the annual National Radon Symposium to stay current on all radon mitigation products and remedies.
